What’s coming

Verlow is being built toward an AI companion that understands the everyday context around your gut. The app creates the record. Connected health, careful interpretation, home testing and passive observations make that record more useful over time.

Today: the record

Training, food, sleep, gut and how you feel in one place, with a plain account of each week. Verlow asks how your gut is every day and has an optional place to note a bowel movement beside your food. It is in private testing on Android and in the browser.

The record comes first because a companion can only be useful if it has real context. This is Verlow today: useful on its own, and the foundation for everything that follows.

How the app works

The next stages

Each stage reduces the work of keeping the record and improves the context Verlow can use. The aim is understanding, not another dashboard.

  1. 01

    Build the companion

    Now: in development.

Connect more of the health services people already use, including Garmin and Withings, then add memory, contextual questions and careful interpretation across time. The point is not a chatbot or a score. It is an AI companion that understands enough context to be useful and is clear about uncertainty.

    The companion adds:

    • health information from services you choose to connect
    • memory of what changed and what mattered to you
    • questions shaped by the context already in your record
    • interpretation that shows its evidence, gaps and uncertainty

It will not invent a cause, diagnose a condition or turn a thin record into a confident answer.

  2. 02

    Add the snapshot

Coming soon: home gut test kit.

A home gut test kit that is taken at home and analysed by a laboratory partner. The result belongs beside the rest of your record, where the companion has the context to explain what it can and cannot mean.

    The kit will state plainly:

    • which laboratory runs it
    • what it measures and what it cannot establish
    • how long a result takes
    • who owns the result and how to delete it

A test is a snapshot, not a verdict. It will not be used as proof that the app was right.

  3. 03

    Add the stream

Coming later: gut observations without typing.

Passive gut observations from hardware that fits a standard toilet, so something that happens every day no longer has to be remembered and typed. The observation joins the same private record as food, training, sleep and how you felt.

As easy to observe as a step count

Your phone counts your steps without being asked. Nobody finds that strange, and nobody is embarrassed to look at how far they walked.

Digestion gets the opposite treatment. Talking about it, and about bowel movements in particular, is treated as embarrassing, so most people keep no record of it at all. It happens every day, and it goes unwritten because it feels awkward to write down.

Verlow’s position is that it should not be awkward. A bowel movement is an ordinary observation, kept privately, beside your food, your training and how you felt. We would rather say that plainly than build around it.

Today that means a question about your gut in the daily check-in, and an optional place to note a bowel movement in a few plain words. Later, a device that fits a standard toilet can record those observations automatically, so the notes you type today no longer need typing.

What has to be true first:

  • people using the app every day who want it
  • a way of measuring that is reliable enough to be worth having
  • a clear answer on privacy, including whose record a reading belongs to in a shared bathroom
  • a price that makes sense for something you keep for years

We have not settled how it will measure, and we will not show pictures of something that has not been built.

Coming later. No design is final.

What does not change

  • A gap remains unknown, never zero.
  • Measured data stays separate from what you said.
  • An explanation shows its evidence and its uncertainty.
  • Verlow does not diagnose, treat or pretend to know a cause it cannot support.
  • More information should mean less work for you, not more homework.

Follow what changes

People testing Verlow see the companion take shape first. This page stays current as connected services, home testing and passive observations move closer.

Start with the record

The first stage is available now. It is where the companion begins, and where every source of context will connect.
